Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, October 31st at 8:30 a.m.

Happy Halloween!

Waves at the pier this morning are running in the knee high range.  Lines are long and clean, but closing out a bit and needs some more water.

Winds are NNW at 3 knots, and surf is glassy.

We expect S winds up to 10 knots later this afternoon.

We are coming off a low tide. High tide will be at 1:58 p.m. The next low tide will be at 8:24 p.m. The Edisto buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 11 seconds in a fairly long period ESE swell. We see small, long-period ground swell this morning with clean conditions. We see choppy, short-period SSW wind swell fill in tomorrow Thursday into Friday as another cold front approaches, then moves off-shore on Friday evening. Surf should average waist-to-chest by Thursday, with some drift and plenty of chop. Hope for a quick window of clean surf Friday.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through tonight. A cold front will approach the area late Thursday, then cross through the region by late Friday. High pressure is expected to return for the weekend, followed by unsettled weather early next week.”

It’s 54* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 76* and sun today.

Water temperature is now 68*.

Sunset is at 6:30 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:35 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
