Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, August 10th at 8:00 a.m.

Surf at The Washout this morning is running knee-thigh with a rare waist high peak.

Winds are light and variable early making for glassy conditions.

Look for winds to pick up southwest late morning in the 10-15mph range surf will become more choppy as a result.

We have a low tide at 10:32 a.m., and a high tide at 5:18 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.0 ft at 9 seconds in a south-east swell.

A few longboard/fish waves to find this Saturday morning in the thigh high range. Looks ok if you want to get wet but wouldn’t expect much as the tide is beginning to drop and hurt it. Looking ahead the surf is only going to continue to drop over the weekend as high pressure builds back in. Mid-late work week looks to have a decent cold front push through and toss some south wind-swell towards our shores. We will keep you posted as that potential wave maker progresses.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A surface trough will prevail inland today. A weak cold front is expected to stall then dissipate over or near our area Sunday into early next week. Another cold front is expected to stall over or close to the region during the latter half of next week.”

It’s 84* with sunny skies this morning.  Look for a hot day with a high of 94* today with mostly sunny skies. Drink lots of water and sunblock today!

Water temperature is around 84*.

Sunrise is at 6:38 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:10 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
