Dangers: Nada

Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, August 11th at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout this morning is running knee-thigh peelers.

Winds are light and variable early making for glassy conditions.

Look for winds to pick up East late morning in the 10 mph range surf will become more choppy as a result.

We have a low tide at 11:26 a.m., and a high tide at 6:10 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 ft at 8 seconds in a south-east swell.

A few longboard/fish waves to find this Sunday morning in the thigh high range. Looks ok if you want to get wet but wouldn’t expect much as the tide is beginning to drop and hurt it. Looking ahead the surf is only going to continue to drop as high pressure builds back in. Mid-late work week looks to have a decent cold front push through and toss some south wind-swell towards our shores. Models beginning to pick up a low to develop off the southern part of the front and move over our area on Saturday. Keep your eyes on it!

NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A front will remain stalled over or just south of the areathrough Monday. Drier high pressure will briefly build from the north on Tuesday, then another front will drop into the area late Wednesday and linger into Saturday”

It’s 80* with sunny skies this morning.  Look for a hot day with a high of 91* today with mostly sunny skies. Drink lots of water and sunblock today!

Water temperature is around 84*.

Sunrise is at 6:38 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:10 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
