Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, March 28 at 7:30 a.m.

Carolina Surf has the Surf Ale Bash tonight at Charleston Music Hall

Waves at The Washout are waist-to-stomach high with a chest-high set in east swell. It should build a bit on the incoming tide late this morning and overall looks fun.

Winds are light and variable, and surf zone is clean.

Look for winds to pick up light out of the south 5-10mph later this afternoon putting some texture on the surface.

It’s low tide at 9:40 this a.m, and high tide will be at 3:53 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 5.2 ft at 8 seconds in an east swell.

Surf looks pretty fun this morning with waist to even chest high sets in clean east swell. The swell is fading out and this mornings incoming tide push could be the call. Looking ahead this swell continues to decline throughout the weekend although should stay rideable before we see our next wave maker early next week. We see a coastal low affect our marine area Monday and Tuesday, and more east swell is predicted for early next week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Warm high pressure will prevail into Sunday. A cold front willthen move through late Sunday followed by a coastal storm on Tuesday keeping it cooler and occasionally wet. Warmer and drier high pressure will then return mid to late week.”

It’s 52* with sun this morning. Look for sun this afternoon with a high of 73*

Water temperature is around 60*.

Sunrise is around 7:13 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:36 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
