Winds are north at 10 knots, and surf zone is clean. There is some drift down the beach.
Look for winds to pick up and rotate north-east 10 to 15 knots, adding some side-shore chop to the surf zone this afternoon.
It’s low tide, and high tide will be at 2:45 p.m. The next low tide is at 8:53 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 5.2 ft at 8 seconds in an east swell, with an east/north-east wind swell 6.2 ft at 7 seconds.
We see high angled east swell today with semi-choppy conditions this afternoon. Surf averages waist high. This swell rotates more on-shore late week – Friday and Saturday – with smaller surf but better local conditions as swell rotates more south-easterly. We see a coastal low affect our marine area Monday and Tuesday, and more east swell is predicted for early next week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Saturday. A cold front will sweep through Sunday, then a coastal low-pressure system could affect the area Monday and Tuesday. High pressure will then build from the north.”
It’s a chilly 47* with sun this morning. Look for sun this afternoon with a high of 66*
Water temperature is around 59*.
Sunrise is around 7:13 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:36 p.m.
