semi-glassy
Good Morning. This is Chadwith your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Monday, August 14 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at The Washout are waist to stomach high with an occasional bigger set.
Winds are WSW at 5 knots, surf is fairly clean.
We expect south-west winds at 10 knots this afternoon and surf will be semi-choppy later in the day.
We’re just coming off of a low tide and high tide will be at 1:39 a.m. the next low tide will be at 7:52 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is reading 3.6 ft. at 8 seconds in medium period ESE swell.
Surf looks fun this morning as the tide rolls in, averaging waist high with an occasional bigger set in semi-glassy conditions. We do expect continued swell this week as a low pressure system moves just north of our marine area and produces some wind and storms. We are continuing to monitor a low near the Western Atlantic that could enhance south-easterly swell early this week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “The area will remain situated between general troughing across the Southeast and Atlantic high pressure as Tropical Depression 8 passes well offshore through Tuesday. High pressure will build in through the second half of the week. It is 83* with partly cloudy skies this morning. Expect partly cloudy skies today and a high of 87* with a 50% chance of rain.
Sunset is at 8:09 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:39 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
