semi-choppy, bump.
Good Morning. This is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Sunday, August 13 at 8:30 a.m.
CAMERA MALFUNCTION. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.
Waves at The Washout are waist to stomach high with rib high sets. It looks to build some as the tide comes in.
Winds are west/south west at 5 knots, and surf is semi-choppy and bumpy at the morning’s low tide.
We expect south winds at 10 knots this afternoon and surf gets bumpy and semi-choppy later in the day.
The first high tide will be at 12:32 p.m. Low tide will be at 6:21 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is reading 3.9 ft. at 8 seconds in medium period south-east swell.
Surf looks fun this morning as the tide rolls in, averaging waist to stomach high in semi-clean ground swell. Tropical depression 8 continues to organize just north-east of the Bahamas. This will enhance south-easterly ground swell later today and into the start of the work week. Winds trend south/south-west for the next several days, adding a bit of bump to what should be some fun swell.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “The area will remain situated between general troughing across the Southeast and Atlantic high pressure as Tropical Depression 8 passes well offshore through Tuesday. High pressure will build in through the second half of the week.
It is 80* with partly cloudy skies this morning. Expect partly cloudy skies today and a high of 88* with a 20% chance of rain.
Sunset is at 8:09 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:39 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
