Semi-clean early, choppy for afternoon.

Time of Report: 8 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Ankle to knee.
Traffic: Pretty busy.
Parking: Still some to be found.
Dangers: Endless flat spell.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, July 3 at 8 a.m.
Surf at the Washout is ankle high with an occasional knee-high wave.
Winds are west/north-west at 5 knots, and surf zone is semi-clean and weak.
Look for easterly winds at 15 knots this afternoon chopping up the surf zone.
Tide is coming in, and will be high at 11:56 a.m. Low tide will be at 5:50 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 1.3 ft. at 8 seconds in a medium period east/south-easterly swell.
Surf looks very small to start the holiday work week. We could see some SMALL south-easterly ground-swell/longboard waves develop tomorrow for the Fourth of July holiday as we see onshore winds continue for the next 48 hours. Other than that, keep an eye on the tropics, as we continue to suffer through an extended flat spell.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Weak high pressure will give way to a surface trough from the Atlantic that will approach the southeast coast tonight, moving across the forecast area Wednesday and Thursday. A cold front could approach the area over the weekend.”
It is 82* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 89* with heat indexes reaching into the upper-90s. Skies will be partly cloudy today with a 20% chance of a T-storm this afternoon.
Water temperature is 86*.
Sunset is at 8:31 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:15 a.m.
