Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, August 4th at 7:30 a.m.
The Eastern Surfing Association’s Governor’s Cup of Surfing takes place this weekend. Make sure to check out all the action at the Contest Shack.
Surf at The Washout this morning is waist to stomach high. There is a chest high set on the incoming tide and looks fun.
Winds are light and variable this morning making for clean conditions.
Look for E winds to pick up to 5-10mph later today but over looks to stay light.
We have a high tide at 11:29 a.m., and low tide will be at 5:23 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.3 ft. at 8 seconds in a SE swell/NE wind combo.
Looks fun on this Sunday mornings incoming tide push saw a couple clean waist+ peelers. This swell should hold into Monday until we see reinforcing trade swell fill in later in the week. Invest 96L is predicted to develop into a tropical depression but looks to move into a unfavorable area for development later this week. Either way plenty of surf for the next few days!
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A stationary front spread across the region will gradually dissipate through tonight. A weak surface trough will then prevail inland with high pressure in the Atlantic during the middle and latter part of the week.”
It’s 76* with rain and clouds this morning. Look for a high of 83* today with rain.
Water temperature is around 85*.
Sunrise is at 6:32 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:17 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
