Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, August 19 at 8:00 a.m.

Remember that Surfers Healing takes place at the Folly Beach Pier on Thursday, August 23rd.  Check it out at www.surfershealing.org.

Also, make sure to check out the Warrior Surf Foundation’s raffle at Bohemian Bull on Saturday, August 25. Check it out at www.warriorsurf.org.

Waves at the Washout are knee high.  They’re breaking close to shore as we approach low tide.

Winds are WSW at 5 knots, and surf zone is textured and slightly side shore.

We see SW winds up to 20 knots later today, chopping up the surf zone.

Low tide is at 8:58 a.m. followed by high tide at 3:39 p.m. Low tide will be again at 9:37 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 4.3 ft. at 4.5 seconds in a S/SW wind/swell combo.

Look for a slight increase in choppy south/south-west wind swell/ground swell today at incoming tide. It won’t be completely flat, but it likely won’t be clean. Weak low pressure is expected to move down from the north Monday into Tuesday before extending back NE which could bring along a cold front mid to late week which could produce a bit of swell.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “The area will be situated between an inland trough and Atlantic high pressure through Tuesday. A cold front will approach the area from the west on Wednesday, then stall over or near the region through the end of the week.”

It’s 78* and mostly sunny this morning. Look for a high of 88* and a 40% chance of a thunderstorm today.

Water temperature is 84*.

Sunset is at 8 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:44 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
