Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for
Sunday, March 4th at 8:30 a.m.

We have TONS of new spring apparel for men and women in the shop, including Billabong, RVCA, Roark, O’Neill, Rusty and more. Come check it out and get geared up for warmer weather.

Still have lots of neoprene including new springs and jackets!

Surf at the Washout is rib high with an occasional chest high set.  It is blowing down the beach, textured, and lully. Waves are breaking close to shore and water is breaking over the rocks at the morning’s high tide.

Winds are north at 20+ knots. We expect winds calm down to 5-10 knots later today and remain out of the N.  Strong side/offshore winds will likely keep the faces fairly blown out today.  There is a small craft advisory in effect through late tonight.

High tide is coming up this hour at 9:29 a.m., low tide will be at 3:36 pm. The next high tide is at 9:58 p.m.

Edisto buoy is reading 8.9 ft. at 5.7 seconds in very steep N/NE swell/wind swell combo.

Surf gets pretty blown down with strong side/offshore winds today, before we see extra-long period east/north-east ground-swell build into Monday from a low bombing in the North-Atlantic late in the weekend.  As this large storm moves down the coast, we expect winds to continue to switch and rotate throughout the coming days.  Winds are expected to switch NE at 5-10 knots Monday morning, becoming E in the afternoon.  This week’s swell will very much depend on the wind’s behavior.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will remain over the region through Monday. A cold front will move through Tuesday and Tuesday night, followed by high pressure. A storm system could affect the region next weekend.”

It is a chilly 46* with sun and tons of wind this morning. Look for a high of 60* with sun today.

Water temperature is 63*. Sunset is at 6:18 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:46 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
