Waves at The Washout are thigh to waist high with a stomach high set as the tide comes in this morning. There are a few bigger sets. Surf is semi-choppy and peaky. It looks kind of fun out there this morning. It is certainly rideable.
Winds are currently south-west at 5-10 knots and are expected to rotate south at 10 knots this afternoon.
Surf should be semi-choppy as the tide comes in later this evening.
High tide is at 10:36 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:34 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is reading 4.9 ft. at 5 seconds in short-period south-west wind swell.
We see thigh to waist high south-west wind swell today with a bigger set and semi-choppy conditions. We expect high-angled north-east wind swell to begin filling in late Friday and into the weekend, building on Sunday and Monday as low pressure moves off of Florida and high pressure sets up to our north. Look for surf to average waist to stomach high in drifty conditions for Sunday into Monday.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will linger nearby through the end of the week. A wave of low pressure could form offshore along the stalled front Friday, as high pressure builds from the north through the weekend.”
It is 82* with clouds this morning. Look for a high of 91* and a 80% chance of a thunderstorm.
Water temperature is 87*.
Sunset is at 7:55 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:48 a.m.
