Thursday, July 5th Washout
choppy
Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, July 5th 2018.
We hope everyone had a safe and happy Fourth of July.
Surf at the Washout is around knee high.
Winds are E at 12 knots and the surf zone is slightly side shore and disorganized.
Look for easterly winds to remain around 10 knots this afternoon keeping the surf fairly choppy all day.
High tide will be at 1:19 p.m. Low tide will be at 7:33 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 5 seconds in a SE wind swell.
Winds are expected to pick up out of the SSW today before becoming NNE tomorrow and into the early part of the weekend. Unfortunately, mid-week’s low low pressure didn’t warrant any real swell for us, and as wind and thunderstorms move into the area tomorrow, we shouldn’t expect much in the way of fun, rideable surf until possible Sunday or Monday as another front comes our way.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A weak surface trough will stretch across the area today, dissipating into Friday as a front approaches from the north. The front will drop southward into the region on Saturday, lingering in the vicinity into early next week.
It’s 82* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 86* today with rain and partly cloudy.
Water temperature is 86*.
Sunset is at 8:31 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:18 a.m.
