Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, November 15 at 8:15 a.m.
Looking forward to our “Schwack Friday” sale here at Ocean Surf Shop, with $100 off any new board all day, and a 25% off sale on men’s and women’s apparel and more. Come check us out the day after Thanksgiving!
Waves at the pier this morning are running waist to chest high with a shoulder high set.
Winds are north/north-west at 15 knots and surf is angled and side shore, but clean. There is a slight drift down the beach, north-to-south.
Winds are expected to increase and go north-west, straight off-shore, late this morning, and we see clean, but fading, swell this afternoon.
High tide is coming up at 1:22 a.m., and low tide will be at 7:33 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 11.2 ft. at 9 seconds in a high-angled east/north-east medium period swell.
We have high angled east/north-east swell in the water this morning averaging waist-to-stomach high with current running down the beach, north-to-south. Conditions are clean, and should remain so all day. Low pressure moves north-east of our waters today, and swell fades through the day. We should see smaller surf this afternoon as the tide goes out, but there should be a long-board wave this afternoon. Residual ground swell keeps a thigh-to-waist high wave in the forecast at best tides and best surf spots Friday and Saturday with clean conditions. This fades out some to start the holiday work week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Low pressure will move northeast of the area today with cool and dry high pressure returning through much of the weekend. High pressure will generally persist over the southeast states next week.”
It’s 53* and cloudy this morning. Look for temps around 56* today with sun coming through this afternoon.
Water temperature is 64*.
Sunset is at 5:17 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:50 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
