Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, February 19 at 8:30 a.m.
New Spring 2019 Beater Boards and Odysea Boards have arrived. Come see what’s new from Catch Surf.
Waves at the Washout this morning are knee-to-thigh with waist-high sets in a choppy, fresh north-east wind swell. Surf is sweeping south-west, down the beach.
Winds are north-east at 25 to 30 knots. Expect strong north-east winds all day.
We are coming off a very high tide cycle this morning, and low tide will be at 1:37 p.m. The next high tide will be at 7:48 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 7.9 ft. at around 6 seconds in a north-east wind waves, with a high angle, passing by our beaches.
We have building north-east wind swell today. We see colder temperatures and choppy, north-east wind swell building all day. Surf will be blowing down the beach. This swell begins to rotate more on-shore, from the east, then south-east, on Wednesday into Thursday, with moderate south/south-west winds, by Wednesday afternoon. Surf should be fun, if not perfect. This south swell should drop off some but still be plenty rideable on Friday, and carry into the weekend as it begins to fade.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “An unsettled pattern is expected as a series of frontal systems affect the area through early next week.”
It’s 53* and cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 57* and clouds with some showers at the beach today.
Water temperature is around 58*.
Sunrise is around 6:57 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:08 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
