Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, July 7th at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at the Washout is around knee high. It’s breaking close to shore in this morning’s low tide.

Winds are NNW at 3 knots, and surf is perfectly clean early this morning. We see winds switch from the E this afternoon at 5 to 10 knots.

We have a low tide at 8:59 a.m., and high tide will be at 3:18 p.m. The next low tide is at 9:39 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 5 seconds in an ESE/NW swell/wind swell combo.

Surf looks small for the weekend averaging knee to thigh high. Some models are showing that a cold front could stall to our east over the weekend and spin up a tropical low pressure just to the NE. We’ll keep in eye on Tropical Depression Three as it tracks near North Carolina’s coastline. Hopefully this low could send in some surf to our beaches early next week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will slide over the area today, gradually dropping south of the area Sunday. High pressure will then build over the region into the middle of next week while Tropical Depression Three tracks slowly off the North Carolina coast. A broad area of low pressure is then expected to develop over the region on Thursday and persist into the weekend.”

It’s 81* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 88* today with a 50% chance of a thunderstorm this afternoon.

Water temperature is 86*.

Sunset is at 8:31 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:18 a.m.
