Good morning, this is Brett with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday December 26 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at the Washout this morning are ankle to knee high in a small North East wind wave.
Winds are North East at 12 to 14 knots. Surf zone is semi choppy.
Look for winds should stay consistent this afternoon. Surf zone stays fairly choppy today.
High tide will be at 10:41 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:53 p.m. The next high tide is at 11:14 p.m. The Edisto buoy is reading 3.6 ft. at 4.5 seconds in a short period North East wind swell.
High pressure dominates our weather today, and there is not much swell in our window. A cold front stalls over our area on Thursday, when a warm front begins to lift north, bringing us a nice south-east wind swell in the chest to head high range with bumpy -to-choppy conditions building Thursday and Friday. This swell lingers into our weekend. So, it should be a good end-of 2018 for surf. Wax up and get your errands done early.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through mid week. A front will stall over or near our area Thursday before lifting north as a warm front by Friday. A cold front will approach the Southeast and linger nearby next weekend.”
It’s nice at the beach this morning. It’s 50* with bright sunshine. Look for a high of 57* and sun all day.
Water temperature is 57*.
Sunrise is around 7:19 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:18 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
